LADAKH POLICE IN ACTION ON RESCUE WORKS” inline with the unprecedented flash floods caused on intervening night of 21st /22nd July 2023 in Leh town area

 Police is requesting general public, civil societies and volunteers of various organizations to come forward to co-operate, support and join Police/ Administration for rescue works so that normal life and traffic regulations can be resumed at the earliest.


Srinagar July 22:(ANR) In addition to Quick Reaction Team of Police &UTDRF, Ladakh Police has deployed all men & materials of Ladakh Police including Police Offices staff, UTDRF, Traffic Police, Fire & Emergency equipments & Staff to respond & to carry out various rescue & rehabilitation works in Leh town especially at Khakshal, Sanker, Skampari, Chhubi, Zangsti, & Main market Gonpa Soma areas. These deployments of man & material of police personnel has been done after conduct of through assessment of damages caused due to the unprecedented flash floods caused on intervening night of 21/22 July 2023 in Leh town area.


Senior Police officers of Ladakh police headed by ADGP Dr. S D Singh Jamwal-IPS, Sh. Sheikh Junaid-IPS, DIG, Ms. Nitya-IPS, S.P Leh, Sh. Stanzin Nurboo-JKPS, CO IR 25, BN/ AIG (Pers), Sh. Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman-JKPS, SP Traffic, Sh. Pardeep Singh- JKPS, S,P UTDRF and other officers have been supervising and carrying out the rescue works since last night on 21, July 2023 in co-ordination with civil volunteers, other departments and security forces. Due to sincere and timely respond by Ladakh Police and administration, there has been no report of casualties and fatalities during the flash floods till date. The rescue works are still going on war footing basis in all effected parts of Ladakh especially in Leh town area.


Police personnel of Ladakh Police are also engaged and working on various rescue works and facilitating civilians and civil administration in other remotes parts of Ladakh i.e Leh & Kargil which are affected by the unprecedented rain fall and flash flood.
