New Initiative Allows Direct Access to DGP for Public Grievances in Kashmir Valley

New Initiative Allows Direct Access to DGP for Public Grievances in Kashmir Valley

SRINAGAR, Nov 12 (ANR) - In a significant move towards enhancing community engagement, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have announced a new initiative to facilitate direct access for common citizens in the Kashmir Valley to the Director General of Police (DGP) without the need for prior appointments.

During interactions with prominent citizens representing various sectors, including trade and industries, a consensus emerged on the need for easier accessibility to the DGP to convey grievances and seek redressal. Responding to this, it has been decided that on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, members of the general public can meet DGP J&K between 2-4 PM.

To ensure transparency and minimize inconvenience, the Police Headquarters will provide advance information through official social media handles if a scheduled meeting is not feasible due to unavoidable engagements. The designated meeting place with DGP will be at the Police Headquarters located at Peer-Bagh in Hyderpora, Srinagar.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between the public and law enforcement, fostering a more accessible and responsive system for addressing citizens' concerns.(ANR)
