Srinagar, Dec 15 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Bank officials refuted claims of a server breakdown on Friday, assuring the seamless operation of UPI services with two lakh customers successfully reset their PINs, with ten lakh transactions processed in last 24 hours.

Mohammad Muzaffar Wani, DGM of IT at J&K Bank, told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the bank communicated the UPI system's smooth functioning via SMS to consumers, guiding them through PIN resets. The UPI issue arose on December 13, and the bank promptly notified users to reset their UPI pins, ensuring uninterrupted service.

Wani said, "Customers who updated their UPI PIN encountered no app-related issues." The bank encourages users to update the UPI app and reset their PIN for hassle-free transactions.

He highlighted the bank's commitment to enhancing online services, allowing consumers to create accounts from the comfort of their homes through online platforms in the future. Wani reported, "Over 2 lakh customers have already transitioned, with more than 1 million successful transactions in the last 24 hours."

While cautioning users against clicking on unauthorized links for security reasons, the bank expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.

Wani also mentioned modifications to the loan sanction process, enabling consumers to avail services within 10 seconds. Although currently applicable to certain schemes, this expedited process will extend to include customer and car loans in the future.(KNS)
