Kokernag Dec 24 (ANR) : In a continuation of travel woes, the Anantnag-Kishtwar National Highway via Sinthan Pass (NH-244) is set to remain closed for traffic second consecutive day.


 Despite successful snow clearance operations conducted overnight by authorities of Kokernag, the persistence of icing and frosting on certain stretches has led authorities to deem it unsafe for normal vehicular movement.


According to data available which issued by authorities as per *Anantnag News Reader* said challenging conditions have posed a significant risk for drivers, with slippery surfaces making the journey precarious. The closure extension underscores the commitment to ensuring the safety of commuters, as officials work diligently to address the persisting issues.


Efforts to mitigate the impact of icy conditions are underway, with authorities closely monitoring the situation. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and adhere to the closure for their safety, as road maintenance crews continue their work to improve the road's navigability.


Travelers are advised to stay updated on official announcements regarding the reopening of the Anantnag-Kishtwar National Highway, as weather conditions and road safety assessments remain dynamic factors influencing the decision to lift the closure.


Meanwhile, authorities said, Anantnag - Kishtwar National Highway Via Sinthan Pass (NH-244) shall remain *closed* for traffic movement for today as well. 


Snow clearance had been completed last night but due to icing/frosting some stretches are very slippery & thus risky for normal vehicles. (ANR)
