 Water Supply Faces Challenge Amid Prolonged Dry Spell in Kashmir

Kokernag Jan 16 (ANR) : In light of an extended dry spell in the Kashmir region, the Office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department (PHE) Sub Division Kokernag, issues a notice to the general public.


The notice as per (ANR) highlights a significant reduction in water discharge from local sources, impacting the drinking water supply to areas within the sub-division. Residents are urged to judiciously use water for domestic purposes, acknowledging the climatic conditions affecting the regular flow.


Commercial establishments are specifically appealed to curtail their daily water consumption, considering the challenging circumstances.


The office expresses gratitude for the public's understanding and cooperation, emphasizing that support during this period will be highly appreciated. 

Meanwhile the order states "The respected public falling under the jurisdiction of this sub division is intimated that due to prolonged dry spell in Kashmir, the discharge of all the sources in the area has drastically decreased. And as such, this climatic condition has affected the drinking water supply to the areas being fed from these sources. Through the medium of this notice you are requested to bear with us and judiciously use the water for domestic purposes."


Furthermore the commercial establishments are requested to curtail their daily water needs on account of above stated conditions.
