Coblation Technology Revolutionizes ENT Surgeries at GMC Anantnag
Anantnag Sep 03 : (ANR) Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag has taken a significant leap in enhancing ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) surgical care with the installation of the latest Coblation technology in the Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery. The cutting-edge equipment was inaugurated today by Principal GMC Anantnag, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb, in the presence of Dr. Aamir Yousuf, HOD ENT, and Prof. Dr. Sajad Majid Qazi.
Coblation technology, which stands for Controlled Ablation, employs radiofrequency energy to create a plasma field for precise tissue removal. Unlike traditional methods, Coblation operates at lower temperatures, reducing collateral tissue damage, minimizing postoperative pain, and speeding up patient recovery.
The newly installed Coblation equipment will be instrumental in a variety of ENT procedures, including tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, turbinate reductions, and treatments for snoring, sleep apnea, and chronic sinusitis. Its precision and minimally invasive nature make it an ideal choice for improving patient outcomes while reducing recovery times.
Speaking at the inauguration, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb emphasized the importance of integrating advanced technologies like Coblation into patient care, noting that it aligns with the college’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art medical services to the community. "The introduction of Coblation technology marks a significant milestone in our efforts to deliver high-quality healthcare, ensuring that our patients benefit from the latest advancements in medical science," she said.
Dr. Amir Yousuf, HOD ENT, highlighted the specific advantages of Coblation in ENT surgeries, including reduced bleeding, less postoperative discomfort, and quicker healing times, which collectively enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
The addition of Coblation technology to GMC Anantnag's medical arsenal underscores the institution's dedication to adopting innovative solutions to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the region.(ANR)
