Police Arrest Drug Peddler in Srigufwara, Contraband Seized

As part of its ongoing efforts to combat drug-related issues in society, the Police have arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered a significant quantity of contraband from his possession.
A Police team from Srigufwara Police Station set up a checkpoint at Nowshara crossing and intercepted a suspicious individual, who attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended by the alert officers. Upon searching, the Police recovered approximately 4 kilograms of Bung Boosa from his possession. The arrested individual has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Mir, son of Showkat Ahmad Mir, a resident of Sirhama, Srigufwara.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 83/2024 at Police Station Srigufwara, and further investigation is underway.
The community is urged to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their areas. Those involved in drug trafficking will be dealt with according to the law. Our continued actions against drug peddlers aim to reassure the Public that we are committed to keeping our society free from the harmful effects of drugs.
